Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Customs services in Angola continue to strive for the modernization of working methods, with a view to facilitating international trade and illicit control of goods, said director Jero\u0301nimo Cambalanganja yesterday.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the manager, who was speaking within the framework of World Customs Day, which is being celebrated yesterday, with the means available yesterday it is possible to inspect goods, whose deadlines may vary depending on the type of means imported and exported, as well as their quantity.<\/p>\n

Currently, he said, the customs services attached to the General Tax Administration (AGT) provide online services that are allowing, with speed, the processing of processes and the import and export of various goods.<\/p>\n

He also specified that yesterday the average inspection time for goods at the terminals is up to three hours.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe current means and equipment for customs processing and control are satisfactory, but the need for updating is constant, given the challenges that countries face in terms of trade facilitation versus control\u201d, he defended.<\/p>\n

Referring to the work tools, Jero\u0301nimo Cambalanganja said that the \u201cAsycuda World\u201d system is one of the main tools used to allow the customs clearance of goods in advance.<\/p>\n

The Asycuda World system facilitates the simplification of customs procedures, the completion of the processing of documents, including payments before the arrival of goods in Angolan territory.<\/p>\n

He explained that the speed in handling customs procedures promotes increased transparency in trade, reduces transaction costs and increases customs cooperation between states.<\/p>\n

Jero\u0301nimo Cambalanganja recalls that trade facilitation should mean the creation of simplified and harmonized procedures, liberalization and the customs clearance of goods, encompassing security, revenue collection and the collection of statistical data.<\/p>\n

International Customs Day is celebrated this year under the motto \u201cNurturing the New Generation: Promoting a Culture of Knowledge Sharing and Professional Pride\u201d.<\/p>\n

Based on this motto, the AGT, through customs, foresees, this year 2023, the improvement of the sharing of customs information with public entities, operators of the foreign trade chain and international countries.<\/p>\n

They also provide for the improvement of information technologies, the improvement of customs procedures with a view to facilitating and reducing illicit cross-border trade.<\/p>\n

Currently, according to Jero\u0301nimo Cambalanganja, the sharing of information has been recognized by organizations as an indispensable resource for the development and potentialization of countries.<\/p>\n

He said that AGT has been sharing information to better cooperate in the dematerialization and less bureaucracy of goods clearance processes.<\/p>\n

Knowledge sharing has been carried out through consultation forums, it has been a vehicle for promoting synergies, strengthening partnerships and opening dialogue with the public\/business sector.<\/p>\n
