Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan Paralympic Committee (CPA) will, later this year, benefit from support from the United States of America.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the president of the CPA, Leonel da Rocha Pinto, who was speaking to the press, the support that has not yet been defined is a guarantee given by the director of diversity and inclusion of the US Department of State, who now has more information about adapted sport carried out by Angola .<\/p>\n

After meeting Wednesday with the North American official, Gina Abercombie-Winstanley, the Angolan official said it was a pleasure to show the work being done in the country, with satisfactory results.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are now going to follow your recommendation and present projects and our needs plans. Very soon, the parties will hold meetings again, where the institution’s priority projects will be presented\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, the delegation from the United States of America witnessed demonstrations of athletics and football for amputees, at the Coqueiros stadium, in Luanda, an activity attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Palmira Barbosa and by the US ambassador to Angola, Tulinabo Mushingi.<\/p>\n

The head of the CPA also spoke about the High Performance Centre, which is being built in Bengo province.<\/p>\n

“This center is one that will help a lot in the development of sport and beyond”, he stressed, requesting support from the business community to help the State to carry out the undertaking.<\/p>\n

The training of more coaches and social workers will also be one of the bets to be requested, as a way of responding to the many people who request the CPA on a daily basis, in order to assist all those who intend to join the practice of sport.<\/p>\n

In the last 20 years, adapted sport has conquered space in the international arena with successive achievements by Jose\u0301 Sayovo, in African competitions, World Championships and Paralympic Games.<\/p>\n

Also worthy of note is the winning of the World Football Championship for amputees, including the holding of several international competitions in the country.<\/p>\n
