Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The current state of culture, its challenges and cultural heritage as a source of revenue collection, are being discussed this Sunday, in the city of Ondjiva, during the first cultural colloquium in Cuanhama municipality, Cunene province.<\/b><\/p>\n

The event, part of the commemorative days of the 8th of January, National Day of Culture, aims to stimulate, publicize, promote and preserve the cultural identity of the people of this region.<\/p>\n

At the opening, the municipal director of Tourism and Culture, Gaude\u0302ncio Ndinovano, said that the event will serve as a point of promotion of cohesion, unity and cultural diversity of the municipality, as well as the preservation and dissemination of national identity.<\/p>\n

In this colloquium, he continued, it is intended to exchange ideas around the themes scheduled and to broaden the reflection on the possibility of having an increasingly stronger culture.<\/p>\n

He said that the event constitutes a foundation for revisiting the current state of the cultural sector, giving opportunity to makers and creators to present themselves, with a spirit of exchange and cultural celebration.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is very important to hold this colloquium, because in this way we will be encouraging a reflection on the importance of our people’s cultural roots, in order to improve the affirmation of our identity\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n

The official defined culture as a set of memories, symbols and values \u200b\u200bthat, when well shared, constitute a source of income, an essential element for the development of a municipality.<\/p>\n

He appealed for continued attention to cultural action, so that positive values \u200b\u200band the legacies of traditions have a harmonious development in contemporary society and its own identity that respects universally accepted values.<\/p>\n

Participating in the colloquium are cultural arts makers, religious leaders, students, local authorities and other guests.<\/p>\n
