Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The secretary of the PRS in the province of Huambo, Anto\u0301nio Soliya Selende, pointed out as a challenge for 2023, the reinforcement of the inspection activities of government actions, with a focus on the well-being of the population.<\/b><\/p>\n

The party member was speaking on Friday during the opening ceremony of the political activities of the Social Renewal Party (PRS) in Huambo province, referring to this year.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, he said that, among the various activities, the PRS will continue to denounce irregularities in the acts of public managers, in order to contribute to good governance in this region of the Central Plateau of Angola.<\/p>\n

“As an opposition party, we reiterate, in this year 2023, the commitment to defending the common good, through the supervision of the Government’s actions, correcting and denouncing irregularities with the Justice bodies, to combat and discourage such practices that condition socio-economic development\u201d, he concluded.<\/p>\n

The politician added that these activities will affect, essentially, the sectors of Education, Health, Agriculture, access routes, in addition to actions related to young people and women.<\/p>\n

In this way, he continued, it is intended to ensure that government policies in these sectors, as the main pillars for development, are more pragmatic in solving the problems that afflict citizens.<\/p>\n

Anto\u0301nio Soliya Selende called for greater involvement of militants in the scheduled activities, in order to contribute to the enhancement of the party organization.<\/p>\n

The PRS (Partido de Renovac\u0327a\u0303o Social) is a political party in Angola, represented in the National Assembly, founded in 1990.<\/p>\n

In the last general elections, held on August 24, 2022, won by the MPLA, he obtained, at the level of the constituency of the province of Huambo, 4,704 votes, equivalent to 0.86 percent, out of a total of 561,326 voters who turned out to the polls to exercise the right of citizenship.<\/p>\n

The MPLA was the most voted party in the region, with 308,731 votes, electing three deputies, out of a possible five, followed by UNITA, with two parliamentarians, as a result of 212,465 votes.<\/p>\n
