Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola \u2013 notes on economic and social history from 1482 to 1975\u201d is the title of the book by Angolan sociologist and politician Lucas Benghy Ngonda, to be launched on Wednesday at the auditorium of the Faculty of Economics, in Luanda.<\/b><\/p>\n

Edited by Mayamba, the book is a work in which the university professor exposes his convictions on issues that have marked the Economic and Social History of Angola.<\/p>\n

Lucas Ngonda said that the book portrays the difficult times of the then one-party period in which the university was struggling in terms of support material.<\/p>\n

According to the author, the publication consists of three parts, the first, with six chapters, portrays colonial Angola and the Portuguese conquest of the country, the second, also with six chapters, addresses issues of the slave economy and the abolition of slave trade.<\/p>\n

The last, with ten chapters, narrates the problems of the economic policy of the new Portuguese State, after the abolition of the slave trade, since it made its living from this trade.<\/p>\n

The 221-page book has an initial print run of 1,000 copies.<\/p>\n

Born in the province of Ui\u0301ge, Lucas Benghy Ngonda is an Angolan sociologist and politician, former member of the National Assembly of Angola for the National Liberation Front of Angola (FNLA).<\/p>\n
