Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, addressed the strengthening of parliamentary cooperation with Mozambique, during an audience he granted to the leader of the Assembly of the Republic of that country, Esperanc\u0327a Bias.<\/b><\/p>\n

“We made known (…) the need to strengthen cooperation between the two parliaments”, informed Esperanc\u0327a Bias, speaking to the press, at the end of the meeting at the Presidential Palace, in Luanda.<\/p>\n

He said it was the intention of Mozambican parliamentarians to exchange experiences with Angolan parliamentarians in the field of inspection of mineral resources.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the President of the Mozambican Parliament reiterated President Filipe Nyusi’s invitation to his Angolan counterpart, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, to visit the country this year, on a date to be specified.<\/p>\n

Esperanc\u0327a Bias has been in Luanda since Thursday, for a six-day official visit to Angola, with a focus on strengthening parliamentary cooperation.<\/p>\n

Bilateral relations between Angola and Mozambique are based on historic bonds of friendship, fraternity and solidarity.<\/p>\n

On September 5, 1978, the two States signed the General Agreement on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation, and on the same date the Bilateral Cooperation Commission was set up.<\/p>\n

Within the framework of bilateral cooperation, the two countries have signed several agreements and protocols, with emphasis on the Agreement on visa exemption for diplomatic, service and ordinary passports.<\/p>\n

Angola and Mozambique also cooperate in the aeronautical domain, which allows for the operation of three weekly flights by TAAG \u2013 Linhas Ae\u0301reas de Angola between the two capitals (Luanda and Maputo).<\/p>\n

The fields of cooperation extend to Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, Youth, Social Communication and Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n
