Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The province of Cunene is creating the conditions to improve the synthetic grass field of Castilhos, in the City of Ondjiva, with the aim of returning to play this year, the qualifying zone for the National Football Championship of the I division, Girabola2023 \/2024.<\/b><\/p>\n

The province ceased participating in the second division zonal, in 2018, at the time with the Kafelando do Cunene team.<\/p>\n

Speaking this Wednesday, the director of the Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports office of Cunene, Nelson Ndemulikuata, said that the decision was advanced by the teams participating in the provincial championship.<\/p>\n

He explained that in this sense, the cabinet and the local government are working to improve conditions, especially in the synthetic grass field of Castilhos, in Ondjiva, to host national competitions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe conditions of the game venue are the fundamental part, since the requirements of the African Football Confederation (CAF) and the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) are very strict\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, he recalled that the second round of the “provincial” is taking place, which will play the second round next weekend.<\/p>\n

Nelson Ndemulikuata underlined that the championship has been running since December 2022 in the two-round round-robin system, with the involvement of seven teams.<\/p>\n

At this point the competition is led by Club Desportivo dos Castilho with 11 points, followed by Bons Amigos (9), Atle\u0301tico do Cunene (8), Kakuvas (7), Etunda da Cahama, Mukolongondjo with (5) each and Hehafo Sporting Club in last with (4).<\/p>\n

Cunene has only one field with synthetic grass, located in the Castilhos neighbourhood, in the city of Ondjiva, as well as 11 pitches in the municipalities.<\/p>\n
