Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) signed this Thursday, in the country’s capital, a sponsorship agreement with the multinational “Azule Energy” for the Senior Women’s National Championship.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to a press note, the partnership will take effect next March, at the start of the competition which will have the participation of 11 teams.<\/p>\n

The award ceremony was headed by the president of the Angolan Basketball Federation, Jose\u0301 Moniz da Silva, and by the executive director of Azule Energy, Adriano Mongini.<\/p>\n

According to the communication, the FAB’s mission is to promote national basketball, organize the Professional League, the sustainable development of the practice of sport (professional and amateur), as well as policies of inclusion and respect for gender diversity.<\/p>\n

Its partner intends to promote the modernization of sport in Angola through the implementation of an action plan that brings practitioners and spectators closer to sports agents, giving opportunities to young Angolans throughout the national territory.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, FAB president Jose\u0301 Moniz da Silva valued the multinational’s support for one of the most important national basketball leagues.<\/p>\n

He stated that the joining of the two institutions is the result of the vision of the governing body, which is common between the parties, fundamentally with regard to the importance of promoting the women’s sport and providing sports lovers, and basketball in particular, with a unique experience. .<\/p>\n

The executive director of Azule Energy, Adriano Mongini, showed enthusiasm for the partnership, adding that basketball has always been a prominent sport in Angola, with many talents and national and international titles.<\/p>\n

For him, associating the company with the senior women’s championship reinforces the commitment to Angolan society, with diversity and the promotion of this sport, which is so important for Angolans.<\/p>\n

Azule Energy is a joint venture that brought together the businesses of BP and Eni in Angola, officially launched on 1 August 2022.<\/p>\n

It has Angola’s largest net oil and gas production and 2 billion barrels of liquid resources, with production expected to increase to approximately 250,000 barrels per day over the next five years.<\/p>\n
