Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola will, since this Thursday, chair the Working Group of Defense Lawyers of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), a mandate that lasts for one year.<\/b><\/p>\n

The decision was taken during the SADC Defense Jurists Group meeting, held in the municipality of Belas, which discussed legal issues such as the Standby Force (SOFA) agreement, the SADC mission in the Republic of Mozambique (SAMIM) , the issue of VIP escorts, the issue of the right to compensation\/compensation for death and damage to property arising from the fulfillment of military missions, and the development of SADC’s comprehensive regional defense doctrine.<\/p>\n

Lasting four days, the event was attended by generals and distinguished officials from member country delegations.<\/p>\n

It should be recalled that the chairmanship of the Working Group of Defense Lawyers of SADC, in 2022, was in charge of Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) is a sub-regional integration organization, composed of 16 member states, namely Angola, DRC, Eswatine, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Lesotho, South Africa, Comoros, Mauritius , Madagascar, Seychelles, Tanzania, Malawi, Botswana, which hosts the headquarters and Mozambique, which currently assumes the rotating presidency.<\/p>\n
