Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The municipal administrator of Cazenga, Toma\u0301s Bica, defended, in Luanda, the need for more dialogue on the historical process of the national liberation struggle, in order to pass on testimony to the new generations.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking at the ceremony of recognition of the heroes of the 4th of February, he underlined that the passing of testimony to the new generations will allow young people to know and value the history of Angola.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, he made it known that the municipal administration of Cazenga is working on an advocacy memorandum, so that the 4th of February Memorial is supervised by the Ministry of National Defence, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland.<\/p>\n

This claim is eagerly awaited so that it is officially accepted and protected by this body and, with this, becomes responsible for maintenance, taking into account its greatness.<\/p>\n

During a fraternization lunch that marked the end of the festivities of the 4th of February that year, an act in which at least 50 nationalists and former combatants participated.<\/p>\n

The administrator underlined that the memorial needs to be reclassified, so that it has a conference room and a library, where the entire history of the beginning of the armed struggle for national liberation can be exposed.<\/p>\n

The queen of the 4th of February, Engra\u0301cia Cabenha, considers that remembering the 11th of February is quite sad, because it was on this date that more people died, since the colonist was aware that the protagonists of the attack on the jails were Angolans and not foreigners. .<\/p>\n

He underlined that the colonist took advantage of this day, for a massacre of blacks, hence this date cannot be forgotten either.<\/p>\n

According to the queen, the place where the monument is located was the center where the Portuguese colonialist carried out the deaths of black people who rebelled against the dictatorship.<\/p>\n

“Much is said about February 4th, but the mass deaths happened on February 11th, 1961”, he concludes.<\/p>\n
