Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The World Bank (WB) will support Angola in the construction of agricultural, transport, energy and water infrastructures, through its Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), said yesterday the director of the Studies Office, Planning and Statistics (GEPE), Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Anderson Jero\u0301nimo.<\/b><\/p>\n

To this end, a WB mission, led by the Regional Director for Africa, Albert Zeufack, met in Luanda, with the Minister of Agriculture, Francisco de Assis, to address issues related to projects benefiting from this support in the field of Agriculture.<\/p>\n

On the sidelines of the meeting, Anderson Jero\u0301nimo told the press that this financing support for investment is extended to the private business sector and follows a visit that President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o recently made to the United States of America.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe World Bank’s commitment to support was born with the visit of the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, to the USA, and resulted from the need to create a support tool for the private business sector\u201d, explained the director of GEPE, from Minagrif.<\/p>\n

The World Bank’s support will also cover PLANAGRA\u0303O (National Grain Production Plan) and PLANAPECUA\u0301RIA (National Plan for the Promotion and Development of Livestock).<\/p>\n

The WB delegation that has been in Angola since Wednesday will also maintain contact with the Minister of Energy, Water and Transport.<\/p>\n

The delegation of the WB Group is made up of the regional director for Angola, Burundi, DRC and Sa\u0303o Tome\u0301, Alberto Zeufack, the director of operations for MIGA, Muhamet Fall, and the regional director of the international financial corporation, Kevim Warui Nijirani.<\/p>\n
