Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Republic of Angola was invited to participate in a seminar on \u201cClimate, Peace and Security\u201d in Africa, to take place in the city of Cairo, Egypt, from the 13th to the 16th of March of this year.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to a press release from the Embassy of Angola in Egypt, the invitation was based on the country’s experience in conflict resolution, based on actions around the pacification of the Great Lakes region and peacekeeping missions at regional level.<\/p>\n

The same was formulated on Wednesday during a working meeting between ambassador Nelson Cosme and the director general of the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Maintenance and Peacebuilding (CCCPA), Ahmed Abdel-Latif.<\/p>\n

The CCCPA was recently elected in the African Union to chair the Network of Centers for Peace, Security, Reconstruction and Post-Conflict Development (PCRD).<\/p>\n

This international African institution, based in the city of Cairo, aims to improve the political stability of African countries in the post-conflict period through specialized technical support and works closely with the AU Commission to help prevent countries from returning to conflict.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that President Joa\u0303o Manuel Gonc\u0327alves Lourenc\u0327o was distinguished, in 2022, with the title of Champion of Peace and Reconciliation, by the African Union, as a result of the efforts that Angola has been undertaking in leading the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region, in search for peace, dialogue, and stability in several countries on the African continent.<\/p>\n

In turn, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, of the Arab Republic of Egypt, was also distinguished by the African Union, with the title of Champion for Post-Conflict Reconstruction.<\/p>\n

In chairing the Network of African Centers for Conflict Resolution and Peace Maintenance and Building, supervised by the AU, the Arab Republic of Egypt is assisted by the Republic of South Africa, which hosts the headquarters of the African Center for Constructive Dispute Resolution.<\/p>\n
