Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The revision of the remuneration statute and the unfreezing of careers and promotions are demands of the justice unions in Benguela, who marched this Saturday, allegedly for the dignification of the judiciary sector.<\/b><\/p>\n

At issue is the alleged silence of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, the Superior Council of the Judiciary and the Attorney General’s Office, as an employer, in the face of workers’ claims about better working conditions and wages in the courts, notary services and conservatories.<\/p>\n

Eduardo Chissanga, provincial secretary of Benguela of the National Union of Justice and Administrative Technicians of the Attorney General’s Office (SINTEJAPGR), expressed the dissatisfaction of the affiliates for the lack of response to the demands booklet, even after the first phase of the strike, in November 2022.<\/p>\n

If the situation continues, the union is considering a new stoppage of services on the 27th of April, exactly on the day that the PGR celebrates 44 years since its institutionalization.<\/p>\n

According to him, the union is fighting peacefully to safeguard the situation of PGR employees, licensed or not, who have been waiting for a promotion for several years.<\/p>\n

He also complains about the degradation of working conditions, recalling that, at the moment, 15 PGR technicians at the Benguela Court of Appeal share the same computer, which creates delays in the processing of cases.<\/p>\n

Eduardo Chissanga also added that the magistrates at the first National Police station in Lobito no longer tolerate the appalling working conditions at the site.<\/p>\n

The head of the Union of Justice Officials of Angola (SOJA) in Benguela, Manuel Chiculo, reveals the situation of employees who have not been promoted for more than 15 years, especially at the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, given the insufficient number of vacancies available for promotions.<\/p>\n

Since the problems are transversal, Manuel Chiculo says that it is a fight for the dignification of justice officials and therefore calls on the Government to resolve the issue of promotions, not forgetting anyone.<\/p>\n

In addition to the new remuneration statute and the legal regime for court technicians, the aforementioned unions also include subsidies for isolation, transport, housing and health conditions.<\/p>\n
