Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The General Tax Administration (AGT) is building a customs point at the headquarters of Caiundo, in the municipality of Menongue, as part of the control of the exit and entry of goods in the region.<\/b><\/p>\n

Assigned to the Sixth Tax Region, the construction of the infrastructure is budgeted at 73 million kwanzas and foresees an execution period of 45 days.<\/p>\n

The launching of the first stone for the construction of the property was honored by the governor of the province, Jose\u0301 Martins, this Friday.<\/p>\n

With foreseen containerized infrastructures, the referred point is being built in an area of \u200b\u200beight thousand square meters and will house the Foreign Migration Services (SME), Tax Police, in addition to the General Tax Administration (AGT).<\/p>\n

The infrastructure will have a meeting room, administrative area, bedrooms and a wire wall four meters high and a green area, a project undertaken by the company B6L – Come\u0301rcio – Servic\u0327os – Construc\u0327a\u0303o.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the regional director of the Sixth Tax Region, He\u0301lio Andre\u0301 Nzage, said that the Ponto will allow the creation of 48 jobs, a group that will now control the collection of revenues for the State coffers, as well as the control of goods .<\/p>\n

He\u0301lio Andre\u0301 Nzage recalled that another role of the institution is the prevention of smuggling of goods and other tax infractions, missions that, in his opinion, would not be possible without the implementation of borders (land and river), posts and control points for entry and departure of people and goods.<\/p>\n

In addition to the Caiundo customs point, another will be set up in the locality of Fio, on the border with the neighboring province of Bie\u0301, more than 70 kilometers from Menongue, a project budgeted at 71 million kwanzas.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the governor of Cuando Cubango, Jose\u0301 Martins, assured that the Government is engaged in the rehabilitation of the national road (EN) 140, which connects to the neighboring Republic of Namibia, a section that connects the customs point of Caiundo.<\/p>\n

Angola, upon adhering to the regional policy of free trade with the countries of Southern Africa, for the official, the EN 140 road will serve as the entrance and exit of many goods, through Angolan and foreign economic operators.<\/p>\n

Jose\u0301 Martins defended that, with the operation of the Caiundo customs point, AGT will be in a position to ensure better control of all goods that may circulate in the said section, alongside Fio.<\/p>\n

The Sixth Tributary Region corresponds to the provinces of Cunene and Cuando Cubango, with nine customs “barriers” between points and posts.<\/p>\n
