Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESCTI), Maria do Rosa\u0301rio Braganc\u0327a, explores, on her visit to the State of Israel since Monday, opportunities for cooperation between Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Research & Development (R&D) of both countries.<\/b><\/p>\n

During the five days of work in Israel, issues related to teacher training should be a constant in the cooperation agreements between the two countries, and Angola should take advantage of the exchange of experiences to improve teaching.<\/p>\n

Maria do Rosa\u0301rio Braganc\u0327a clarified, in statements given to the press, in Tel Aviv, that the purpose of the visit to Israel is to improve the quality of the education and learning system in the country, especially in the fields of Science, Technology and Innovation.<\/p>\n

The official announced, by the way, that the country will gain a Science Centre, having assured that it is in the preparation phase and will be built in Luanda.<\/p>\n

He also assured that the Center will allow citizens from childhood onwards, the young and the elderly, regardless of their education, to establish contact with Science.<\/p>\n

“We must say here that it will be an institution that will serve to help in the dissemination of the country’s scientific culture, which is why it is of capital importance for our country”, he said.<\/p>\n

Maria do Rosa\u0301rio Braganc\u0327a added, however, that the Israeli institution uses state-of-the-art technology and that Angola needs to draw good examples for national universities.<\/p>\n

“In relation to Higher Education, Israel has a different form of organization, funding, its own independence and State policies that favor initiatives in the Education sector”, he concluded.<\/p>\n

For five days, the delegation headed by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESCTI), Maria do Rosa\u0301rio Braganc\u0327a, is on a working visit to the State of Israel.<\/p>\n

Among the various activities to be carried out during its stay in Israeli territory, the delegation will visit Higher Education and Scientific Research institutions, with the aim of exchanging experiences and exploring opportunities for cooperation.<\/p>\n

The Angolan delegation in Israel is made up of the president of the National Council of Rectors of Angolan Public Universities, Sebastia\u0303o Anto\u0301nio, the rector of Mandume Ya Ndemufayo University, and, among other Ministry technicians.<\/p>\n

Diplomatic relations between Angola and the State of Israel began in 1993. Two years later, in 1995, the State of Israel opened its Embassy in the Republic of Angola and, in 2000, the Government of Angola did the same, with the opening from its diplomatic representation in Tel Aviv.<\/p>\n

Cooperation mainly consists of activities in the areas of Agriculture, Health, Education, Aviation, Civil Construction, Fisheries, Diamonds, Security and Telecommunications, as well as activities of a humanitarian nature.<\/p>\n
