Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The secretary general of the Angolan Chess Federation (FAX) said this Tuesday, in Luanda, that the modality is going backwards due to lack of support from related bodies and the dynamism of the players.<\/b><\/p>\n

For Carlos Frades, elected on Monday (20th), in an ordinary meeting, due to this finding, his action plan favors interaction with Associations and attracting local support for reversing the situation.<\/p>\n

He recognized that chess is associated with the conjuncture problems that the country is facing, but that even so the strategy of working with the Governments of the respective provinces can help to reach well-defined objectives.<\/p>\n

Carlos Frades also spoke of the implementation of the science game in schools as the main means of massification, involving the Ministry of Education and Provincial Associations (APX).<\/p>\n

The idea, according to the source, is the training of teachers, since educational institutions lack specialist teachers to teach classes on the modality.<\/p>\n

He added that FAX will also work towards the regular holding of provincial tournaments, at the time of celebrations of national anniversaries, a way of enhancing the APX and stimulating the taste for the practice.<\/p>\n

However, he recalled that material was recently distributed to some provincial Associations, an offer from the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, for massification projects, resulting in nuclei.<\/p>\n

Manuel Pedro’s replacement, who died in 2022, said that FAX is close to creating six Associations in compliance with the objective of having a representative throughout the country, with Zaire being the first of those contemplated.<\/p>\n

FAX currently controls 12 Provincial Associations, lacking a branch in Cabinda, Cuanza Norte, Cuando Cubango, Lunda Norte, Moxico and Zaire.<\/p>\n
