Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The vice-president of the Republic, Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, received, in audience, this Thursday, in Luanda, the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Mozambique in Angola, Osvalda Joana, to assess, among others, the protocols initialed between the two countries, with emphasis on the commercial aspect.<\/b><\/p>\n

In Cidade Alta, both interlocutors reviewed the existing cooperation between the two governments, with a view to strengthening the ties that unite the two countries and peoples.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, ambassador Osvalda Joana referred that the intention is to increase trade relations, including in the fields of trade, energy, oil, agrarian training and fishing.<\/p>\n

Regarding training, he said that Angola hosts Mozambican citizens for medium and higher training in the State and Military Security sector, just as Mozambique has already offered scholarships to Angolan citizens.<\/p>\n

Osvalda Joana underlined, on the other hand, that the aim is to make these protocols more fruitful.<\/p>\n

He added that his country has forest issues and so does Angola, at a time when the world is experiencing situations of environmental management.<\/p>\n

Therefore, the two countries must mutually reinforce the protection of these forests, so that these resources serve both peoples.<\/p>\n

Relations between Angola and Mozambique are based on historic bonds of friendship, fraternity and solidarity.<\/p>\n

In September 1978, the two States signed the General Agreement on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation, which led to the creation of the Bilateral Cooperation Commission.<\/p>\n

Within the framework of bilateral cooperation, these countries initialed various agreements and protocols, with emphasis on the exemption of visas in diplomatic, service and ordinary passports.<\/p>\n
