Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The revitalization of the Huambo industrial park, with a view to boosting the local economy, is among the recommendations of the 5th JURA provincial conference, held Saturday, in the capital city of this region in the Central Plateau.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the final communique\u0301 of the event, which served to elect delegates to the 5th ordinary congress of JURA, taking place from 15 to 17 March in Luanda, the revitalization of the industrial park, with emphasis on the areas of Chiva, Sa\u0303o Joa\u0303o and Sa\u0303o Pedro, on the outskirts of the city of Huambo, will significantly reduce the youth unemployment rate.<\/p>\n

Until 1991, the province of Huambo, Central Plateau of Angola, was considered the second largest industrial park in the country, following Luanda (capital of Angola).<\/p>\n

Almost everything was produced in this region, from shoes, beer, milk, meat products, clothing, soft drinks, bicycle and motorcycle assembly, which directly employed more than three thousand national citizens.<\/p>\n

For this reason, JURA, UNITA’s youth arm, considers it necessary to quickly rebuild the old industrial centers, given the importance they played for the national economy.<\/p>\n

They also recommended impartiality in the approval of projects for granting agricultural credits and entrepreneurship kits, for equal opportunities and economic growth for youth.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, the spokeswoman for the V Ordinary Congress of JURA, Elsa Pataco, appealed to the responsibility and maturity of the militants, for growth and the realization of the challenges proposed in society.<\/p>\n

During the conference, 29 delegates were elected to participate in the 5th ordinary congress of JURA, which has two candidates for general secretary, namely Manuel da Costa Ekuikui and Joa\u0303o Lucombo.<\/p>\n

JURA was founded on July 18, 1974, by David Janota\u0303o, who was its first president.<\/p>\n
