Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The government of Cunene province has announced the names of some local figures, predicting the choice of one to be assigned to the new general hospital under construction, with capacity for 220 beds.<\/b><\/p>\n

The local government proposes names such as doctor Vero\u0301nica Fitzgeral, who held various positions at the general hospital in Chiulo, Anto\u0301nio Didalelwa (now deceased) governor of Cunene between 2008 and 2016 and General Simione Mukune, who headed several military missions.<\/p>\n

The proposal was presented by the Deputy Governor, Apolo Ndinoulenga, during the II Extraordinary Session of the Government, which aimed to collect proposals for the nomenclature to be attributed to the Ondjiva hospital.<\/p>\n

The hospital unit that replaces the old one after being affected, in 2020, by a large fire, will have new services in hemodialysis, psychiatry, hemotherapy, physiotherapy, emagiology, among others.<\/p>\n

With execution levels in the order of 68% and financial at 60%, the works could end in June this year.<\/p>\n

With a capacity for 220 beds, the general hospital includes other services such as pediatrics, obstetrics, endoscopy, biology, ophthalmology, stomatology, urgency, minor surgery, X-rays, CAT scans, hemodialysis, psychiatry.<\/p>\n

The hospital, with 26 blocks, will have four inpatient units, an equal number of operating rooms, a hemodialysis unit with 12 chairs, a blood bank, psychiatric hospitalization and eight residences for doctors.<\/p>\n

Under construction in an area of \u200b\u200b60 thousand square meters, since May 2021, in the space of the former fair, in the neighborhood of Naipalala, the unit is budgeted at 52 million euros, including equipment.<\/p>\n

According to deputy governor Apolo, a considerable number of doctors are specializing in the provinces of Luanda, Benguela and Hui\u0301la, so that when they return they will be able to provide a quality service.<\/p>\n

Since the fire of the old facilities, the services of the general hospital of Ondjiva were transferred to the one in the municipality of Cuanhama, with capacity for 70 beds.<\/p>\n
