Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The coordinator of the group of deputies residing in the province of Cunene, Maria Salome\u0301 Taveya, highlighted this Monday the importance of greater interaction with the churches, aimed at creating a platform for dialogue and collection of contributions for the good -being social.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking at the opening of a meeting with the leaders of different religious denominations based in the province, he said that it was necessary for the deputies to be closer to the church, in order to better understand the anxieties and aspirations of the communities.<\/p>\n

As representatives of the people, he said that the deputies must establish direct contact with the representatives and find out about the concerns and aspirations in order to be brought to the discussion.<\/p>\n

According to the official, the churches, by their nature and social purpose, play an important role, constituting a great partner of the State in the moralization of society and permanent transmission of values \u200b\u200bto the new generations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Church has a very wide reach in the communities, since it is implanted in places where the deputies do not have access\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n

Deputy Se\u0301rgio Vaz, on his turn, said that the meeting is part of the parliamentary agenda that provides for a cycle of exchanges with civil society, in order to gather opinions to act as representatives of the people.<\/p>\n

To this end, it is necessary to establish a platform for permanent dialogue with civil society and listen to the aspirations of the people, emphasizing that social issues are a priority on the parliamentary agenda.<\/p>\n

According to the deputy, the churches are social partners dedicated to social assistance, education, health and the pacification of spirits, as well as the moralization of society.<\/p>\n

He justified that the relationship between the National Assembly and the church is fundamental for the success of parliamentary activity, since they are present in all communities and know the main problems and initiatives of citizens.<\/p>\n
