Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>A group of three French businessmen expressed, this Wednesday, in Luanda, their interest in expanding their investments and increasing the number of companies operating in the agricultural and livestock sector in the country, with a view to supporting the process of increasing production. of food goods in Angola.<\/b><\/p>\n

These are investors from the companies CFCAI, a multinational specialized in grain drying, COOPEX (specialist in bovine genetics) and IDENA (one of the largest companies producing feed and food supplements for animals), who unanimously considered Angola as a good country to invest in, taking into account its potential and the favorable business environment.<\/p>\n

The respective businessmen, who are in the country as part of the visit of the French President, Emmanuel Macron, to Angola, expressed this intention yesterday, during the meeting they held yesterday, in the Angolan capital, with the Secretary of State for Agriculture and Livestock, Joa\u0303o Bartolomeu da Cunha.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, the managing director of COOPEX, Tristan Gaiffe, made it known that his company intends to develop a project to raise “Montbe\u0301liarde” cattle in Angola, to streamline the process of manufacturing and processing milk in the country .<\/p>\n

For the first phase of implementation of this project, he added, the company plans to bring 165 heads of this cattle to the country later this year, to test their adaptation in Angola.<\/p>\n

For the manager, the Montbe\u0301liarde breed has a good ability to adapt to the climatic conditions of many African countries, with potential for milk production.<\/p>\n

Also showing interest in reinforcing investment in Angola is the commercial director for Africa at company IDENA, Damien Beacco, who already operates in the country, in the monogastric sector.<\/p>\n

He considered the meeting held with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry as satisfactory, as it allowed him to find out about the potential and business opportunities that Angola has in the agricultural and livestock sector.<\/p>\n

As for the French President’s visit to the country, the businessman referred that it will serve to reinforce the presence of more companies in Angola and vice versa.<\/p>\n

For his part, the Secretary of State for Agriculture and Livestock, Joa\u0303o Bartolomeu da Cunha, said that the audience granted to French businessmen served to exchange ideas related to agricultural and agro-industrial production in the country.<\/p>\n

He referred that the materialization of the intentions expressed by the businessmen will bring enormous benefits, mainly in obtaining knowledge and cutting-edge technology for the agricultural and livestock area, as well as increasing the production of foodstuffs that the country still produces in reduced quantities.<\/p>\n

Another advantage, he continued, will also be to allow for an increase in the storage capacity of the products and to give greater quality to the cereals, a fact that will make it possible to considerably reduce post-harvest losses.<\/p>\n

To this end, he appealed to businessmen to install their industrial units in Angola, for the local transformation of raw materials that the country has.<\/p>\n

In addition to the investment intention of the aforementioned businessmen, 60 French companies already operate in Angola, in various socio-economic sectors of the country, which has allowed the creation of more than 10,000 jobs, according to the French-Angola Business Club (CEFA ).<\/p>\n

Bilateral cooperation between Angola and France dates back to 1982, making it the fourth time that a French President has \u201cset foot\u201d on Angolan soil. The last visit of a French statesman to Angola was made, in July 2015, by the former President, Franc\u0327ois Hollande.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Angolan Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, visited France in May 2018.<\/p>\n
