Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, arrives this Thursday night in Luanda, for an official visit, at the invitation of the Angolan Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/b><\/p>\n

The mission of the French President will be carried out throughout Friday (3), says a note from the Press Secretary of the Presidential Palace.<\/p>\n

According to the document, on Friday Emmanuel Macron’s agenda begins with a trip to the Currency Museum, downtown Luanda, to close the France-Angola Business Forum, which started today.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, the French Head of State travels to the Presidential Palace, for a meeting alone with President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/p>\n

Among other acts at the Palace, the Heads of State of Angola and France will make statements to the press, according to the note, adding that Emmanuel Macron will leave Luanda mid-afternoon on Friday.<\/p>\n

bilateral relations<\/p>\n

Angola and France established diplomatic relations on February 17, 1976. The two countries also have cooperation relations in various areas.<\/p>\n

Cooperation between the two countries saw new developments after the official visit of President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o to France, on 28 May 2018.<\/p>\n

Within the framework of bilateral cooperation, more than 70 French companies operate in Angola. Oil exports from Angola to France are around US$400 million.<\/p>\n

France intends to change and deepen trade relations with Angola, as part of the ongoing economic diversification in the country.<\/p>\n

Priorities include issues related to industrialization, particularly in the fields of logistics, distribution and agribusiness.<\/p>\n
