Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Members of Civil Society Organizations, from the municipality of Curoca, in Cunene, were trained this Thursday, in the municipality of Onco\u0301cua, on the management of the Participatory Budget.<\/b><\/p>\n

The participatory budget is a tool that the Angolan Executive adopted in the administrative deconcentration and decentralization process to make it more participatory, whether in terms of elaboration or implementation.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the trainer of the Cunene Provincial Finance Delegation, Apolina\u0301rio Anto\u0301nio, said that the Participatory Budget is a mechanism that aims to allow citizens to participate directly in the management of public finances.<\/p>\n

He explained that through this budget, citizens define the application of resources in works and services that will be carried out by the administration, to satisfy the needs of the population.<\/p>\n

Apolina\u0301rio Anto\u0301nio referred that the participatory budget contributes to economic growth and social development, through an inclusive and effective participation of civil society in the governance process.<\/p>\n

For his part, the deputy municipal administrator of Curoca, Miguel Tchitangua, highlighted the importance of training, as it provides citizens with knowledge in relation to the management of the budget in question.<\/p>\n

He recalled that this is an estimated budget of 25 million kwanzas annually, which should prioritize actions that contribute to improving the quality of life of disadvantaged communities.<\/p>\n

Miguel Tchitangua asked for rigor in the management of funds, in accordance with the rules for the financial execution of the Citizens’ Budget, contained in Presidential Decree 234 and 235\/19 of 22 July.<\/p>\n

At the meeting, 11 individuals were elected as members of the Technical Budget Management Committee, in the municipality of Curoca, and two appointed by the administration as inspectors.<\/p>\n

With an area of \u200b\u200b7,998 square kilometres, the municipality of Curoca is administratively divided into two communes and 25 villages, and has a population of 56,000.<\/p>\n

Presidential Decree 234\/19, of July 22, presents the participatory budget of the Administration and citizens, managed with the active participation of members of the management commissions, made up of representatives of civil society, with the ability to identify problems and define priorities<\/p>\n
