Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The provincial secretary of OMA in Huambo, Deolinda Miguel Tchinhama, Saturday, in the municipality of Caa\u0301la, appealed to society to cultivate the habit of denouncing cases of violence against minors in the communities.<\/b><\/p>\n

Deolinda Miguel Tchinhama made this appeal at the end of the march against violence against minors, held at the municipal headquarters of Caa\u0301la, within the framework of the March Woman Day, promoted by this political organization that takes place under the motto. \u201cOMA committed to the fight for the rights of women and children\u201d.<\/p>\n

He considered it important to involve society in actions to combat violence against minors, making complaints to the competent institutions about cases that occur in the communities.<\/p>\n

Recent data from the National Policy indicate that, in 2022, 50 cases of violence against minors were registered, with emphasis on sexual abuse.<\/p>\n

According to the person in charge, this situation is of concern to her organization, above all, due to the fact that many infractions occur within the family, hence the reason for carrying out this repudiation march, with the aim of moralizing society in the municipality of Caa\u0301la and the province in general, as well as raising their awareness of the need for their involvement in actions to combat these practices.<\/p>\n

He said that OMA will continue to collaborate with State institutions for the broader fight against this evil that has compromised the development of many children.<\/p>\n

To this end, he informed that other awareness campaigns against violence and sexual abuse of minors will be carried out, especially in primary school institutions in Huambo province, in order to reinforce child protection programs, as well as contribute to moralizing of society.<\/p>\n

At the end of the march, the second secretary of the MPLA in Huambo province, Ade\u0301rito Chimuco, called on families to be increasingly responsible and promoters of their children’s educational process, so that a solid foundation can be built.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe family must be the first institution to promote the rights and development of children, because that is where their protection against any type of violence should begin\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n
