Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>A group of potential Chinese investors is visiting Angola in April this year, with the aim of investing in the agricultural sector, namely in the production of rice, maize, beans and cassava.<\/b><\/p>\n

Formed in association of nine companies, the group of Chinese businessmen intends to operate in the provinces of Malange, Bie\u0301, Huambo, Zaire and Luanda.<\/p>\n

Regarding an agricultural materials fair, the vice-president of the board of ASSOCHINA, YongBao Chen, said that the association also intends to act in the sector of distribution of agricultural inputs, with great reference to the import of twenty thousand tons of fertilizers.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is necessary to create conditions that facilitate private investment, as there are many Chinese businessmen who intend to invest in Angola\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

At the moment, steps are being taken between the Chinese diplomatic entity and the Angolan State, with a view to facilitating the importation of the fertiliser.<\/p>\n

During the 1st National Forum of Industries and Commerce, promoted on 3 February by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, under the motto \u201cThe Challenges of Food Self-sufficiency\u201d, the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Ju\u0301nior, reiterated the commitment in partnership with the private sector, with a view to promoting self-sustainability.<\/p>\n

Faced with these challenges, the company YONGJIN Angola is holding, from the 1st to the 30th of March, a fair to present agricultural means such as motorcycles, mills for processing maize meal and bombo, as well as rice husking.<\/p>\n

For the company’s representative, YongBao Chen, this aims to provide low-priced means for small producers, with the aim of capitalizing on national production in various aspects.<\/p>\n

\u201cMore than 400 machines are on display that serve to develop family farming, from seeders, small tractors, rice husking machines and corn threshers\u201d, he asserted.<\/p>\n

In turn, the small farmer from the province of Ui\u0301ge, Domingos Manuel, said that the investment in the machining of small agriculture will boost the production and transformation of products from the countryside, given the difficulty in selling them.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been producing cassava, bananas, sweet potatoes and beans, but we need support from those who have the right to sell the products, many of which end up spoiling in the field\u201d, he underlined.<\/p>\n

As for the initiative of the group of Chinese businessmen in betting on the dynamization of agriculture carried out by small producers, he referred that it is salutary that the conditions are created by the Executive so that the objectives can be achieved.<\/p>\n

Angola and China have shared, for 40 years, political and diplomatic relations, which began in 1983, having established a strategic partnership 13 years ago.<\/p>\n
