Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The representative of the Council of Christian Churches in Angola (CICA) in Cunene, Joa\u0303o Gimbi, highlighted, this Wednesday, the importance of the proposal that foresees the implementation of the new Political-Administrative Division (DPA) of the country.<\/b><\/p>\n

Joa\u0303o Gimbi said that the measure will bring prosperity and development to the population, with the implementation of various social investments, particularly in rural areas.<\/p>\n

He explained that for Cunene, if this division happens, the benefits will be visible, from the employability of young people and approximation of services in the communes that will pass to the category of municipalities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe support the Executive’s initiative that will bring infrastructure from scratch and close to the population, but all this requires the availability of financial resources for the implementation of programs to be created in the respective municipalities\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

According to the religious representative, the DPA will allow the creation of a new management model and make municipalities financially autonomous.<\/p>\n

The reverend underlined that with the opening of new communication channels, the Church will be able to spread the Gospel more easily, as a guarantor of the harmonization and pacification of spirits.<\/p>\n

Joa\u0303o Gimbi stressed that the Church will continue to play its role in mobilizing and raising awareness among families and strengthening the reconciliation of brothers and sisters.<\/p>\n

CICA in Cunene brings together 14 religious denominations.<\/p>\n

The administrative proposal for the province of Cunene, which has an area of \u200b\u200b87,342 square kilometers and 17,491 million inhabitants, foresees an increase from six to 18 municipalities.<\/p>\n

The draft Bill for the Amendment of the Political-Administrative Division of Angola aims to improve the quality of life and bring basic social services closer to citizens.<\/p>\n

The Bill, already in possession of the National Assembly, provides, in essence, to increase the number from 18 to 20 provinces and increase from 164 to 581 municipalities in the country. PEM\/LE\/VIC<\/p>\n
