Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The remains of the general in the reform of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), Daniel Prata \u201c\u00c1frica\u201d, who died last Saturday in Bundas, Moxico province, were buried this Thursday at the Moxico Municipal Cemetery.<\/b><\/p>\n

General \u201c\u00c1frica\u201d, who died at the age of 76, held various positions, including brigade commander in the provinces of Lundas Sul and Lunda Norte (1976 to 1979), in the former FAPLA, and director of the Former Combatants (1991 to 2011).<\/p>\n

During the eulogy, in a message, the Ministry of National Defence, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, highlighted the deceased as “one of the nationalists who volunteered for the process of the national liberation struggle, against Portuguese colonialism, militating in the ranks of the MPLA”.<\/p>\n

In the same vein, General Matias Coelho “Zumbi”, who for many years commanded the Eastern Military Region (RML), highlighted the bravery and leadership of this superior officer during his military career.<\/p>\n

In turn, in a note, the provincial government of Moxico guaranteed that the deeds of the deceased will be forever remembered, “in their eagerness to exalt the noble causes that this son of the country dedicated to the benefit of the Angolan nation, from the struggle for national liberation and the conquest of peace and reconciliation of the Angolans”.<\/p>\n

The family, represented by Esperan\u00e7a Cassanga, one of the daughters of the deceased, undertook to create a foundation called \u201cDaniel Prata\u201d, with the aim of continuing his legacies.<\/p>\n

Senior FAA officials, Commissioners of the National Police, members of the government of the province of Moxico and representatives of civil society participated in the funeral.<\/p>\n
