Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of the Interior, Euge\u0301nio Laborinho, guided, this Thursday, in Cunene, greater delivery of the staff of the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in the fight against crime.<\/b><\/p>\n

The minister was speaking during the opening act of the new Provincial Directorate of SIC in Cunene, which was rehabilitated and expanded, now having 26 offices, against the previous 12.<\/p>\n

The building, which also includes two saddles for men and women, was budgeted at around 571 million and 120 thousand kwanzas, under the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM).<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Euge\u0301nio Laborinho said that with the new building, SIC staff now have better conditions to provide operational responses, within the framework of combating crime and related crimes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe learned that the previous installation did not have conditions, but they have just gained more space with an increase of 80 percent in the departments, duly equipped\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

He recalled that Cunene province has a vast border, with some vulnerabilities and risks, from illegal immigration, currency trafficking, fuel smuggling and in other situations human trafficking.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe operational situation in Cunene is calm, but what really worries us is the border, so we are going to verify and issue guidelines on strengthening the control of the passage of goods, illegal entry of foreigners, fuel smuggling\u201d, he considered.<\/p>\n

He informed that everything will be done for the creation of the central criminalistics laboratory, missing in the new building, taking into account the strategic point where Cunene is located.<\/p>\n

Euge\u0301nio Laborinho highlighted that the PIIM is solving most of the problems, adding that it is enough to see the inaugurations that take place in the provinces, and the Ministry of the Interior was also contemplated with several projects.<\/p>\n

The provincial delegate for the Interior of Cunene, commissioner, Anto\u0301nio Ribeiro, acknowledged that the new building, duly renovated, expanded and equipped to facilitate the work of the SIC, is a great gain.<\/p>\n

The also commander of the National Police, said that he has tools used to collect data in the places where criminal facts take place, from digital expressions, for easier clarification of crimes.<\/p>\n

Anto\u0301nio Ribeiro underlined that with the means of transport and motor vehicles received, the staff are equipped to work day and night in the fight against crime.<\/p>\n

On his turn, the deputy governor of Cunene, Apolo Ndinoulenga, highlighted the importance of the infrastructure that contributes to the improvement of the working conditions of the SIC staff, who previously worked in cramped offices.<\/p>\n

Apolo Ndinoulenga said that the government’s solidarity will continue with the construction of more infrastructures, to provide good conditions for the staff of the Ministry of Interior and the national police.<\/p>\n

The Minister of the Interior, Euge\u0301nio Laborinho, handed over three Land Cruiser vehicles and four motorcycles, to facilitate the operational work of the SIC.<\/p>\n

During the two days of work in Cunene, he will carry out verification visits to the command of the Fire Brigade, SME, SIC, Santa Clara post, to the land of the future facilities of the CISP, PIR Unit and in the Cafu\u0301 channel.<\/p>\n
