Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Issues related to the organization and management of electoral processes in the countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) are under analysis, this Tuesday, in Luanda, announced the spokesman for the National Electoral Commission (CNE), Lucas Quilundo .<\/b><\/p>\n

The issue is being analyzed at the Forum of Electoral Commissions of the Community of Southern African Countries (CEO’s-ECF-SADC), whose meeting of directors is taking place yesterday, in the Angolan capital.<\/p>\n

Lucas Quilundo said that, among other topics, coordination of observation missions in SADC countries and committee reports, within the framework of the organization of the legal subcommittee for employment, remuneration, finance and audits, were also in vogue.<\/p>\n

According to the spokesperson, the holding of this forum will allow for greater openness and concertation of matters related to electoral processes in the southern region of Africa, in order to provide an environment of democracy, social, political and economic stability.<\/p>\n

The meeting of the Secretariat and Executive Committee (CEOS) of the Forum of SADC Electoral Commissions takes place from 14 to 16 of this month, in the Angolan capital.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday (the 15th), technicians from the forum will visit the headquarters of the National Electoral Commission (CNE).<\/p>\n

The SADC Electoral Commissions Forum is a space for concertation, where the electoral administration bodies have the mission of coordinating guidelines, exchanging experiences and promoting training and capacity building actions, so that the processes take place within international standards.<\/p>\n

The forum was created in 1998, in Cape Town, South Africa, and its main bodies are the executive committee and the secretariat.<\/p>\n

It adds 16 electoral bodies from countries that make up SADC, namely Angola, South Africa, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Comoros Islands, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius Islands, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles Islands, Tanzania , Zambia, Zimbabwe and the Kingdom of Swatini.<\/p>\n
