Alexandre Cardeal do Nascimento, in Luanda.<\/p>\n<p>With the civil name Jose\u0301 Moreira dos Santos, D. Francisco da Mata Mourisca was born on October 12, 1928, in the then parish of Mata Mourisca, from which he takes his name, Diocese of Coimbra, Portugal.<\/p>\n<p>He was appointed bishop of the Diocese of Ui\u0301ge, then Diocese of Carmona and S. Salvador, on March 14, 1967, aged 39, and ordained on April 30 of the same year, in Porto, Portugal.<\/p>\n<p>He belonged to the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin and was ordained a priest in Porto, on January 20, 1952.<\/p>\n<p>Graduated in Dogmatic Theology from the University of Salamanca, Spain, in 1957, D.
