Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The inhabitants of Demba Chio village, Quic\u0327ama municipality, Luanda province, consume improper water, taken from a well, exposing themselves to health risks.<\/b><\/p>\n

This liquid, according to resident Cristina Cambuta, has caused some illnesses, especially in children, among others, skin irritation and diarrhea. “Thank God, we have a medical center that takes care of us whenever necessary”, she said with relief.<\/p>\n

“There are times when we have a hard time having water that is more or less acceptable for drinking, cooking, bathing or washing clothes because we find it with a lot of impurity”, he said.<\/p>\n

Another young woman, Virgi\u0301nia Alegre, made it known that this well is shared with wild animals and when it rains it becomes more difficult to get water because of the dirt.<\/p>\n

“We need the government to help us because we have no alternatives”, cried the citizen.<\/p>\n

According to resident Ada\u0303o Saraiva, from the CTT neighborhood, who also have great difficulties with drinking water, the local population consumes the liquid from rain accumulated in the existing excavations in the baobab tree trunks.<\/p>\n

The source informed that this liquid is even cleaner than that collected in wells and is used for drinking, hygiene, cooking, among others.<\/p>\n

The citizen said they were going through difficult times because of the lack of water and called on the municipal administration to find a solution to the case.<\/p>\n

By the way, the provincial governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem recently promised, during a two-day visit to the municipality of Quic\u0327ama, the opening of water holes, installation of solar panels and improvement of the road in the near future.<\/p>\n

“We have to work so that the communication routes in the Municipality of Quic\u0327ama are intervened with the greatest possible urgency”, said the governor at the time, at the end of the working visit made on the 13th and 14th of this current.<\/p>\n
