Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Secretary of State for Social Action, Lu\u0301cio Gonc\u0327alves Amaral, called Friday, in the municipality of Ambriz, province of Bengo, for society’s participation in the process of raising awareness and moralizing the defaulting parents and those who avoid your responsibilities.<\/b><\/p>\n

The government official who was speaking at the central event on Father’s Day (March 19), stressed that society’s involvement will help to change the behavior and mentality of defaulting fathers, as the aim is to exercise responsible and committed fatherhood in May the father always be present.<\/p>\n

He considered it opportune to start the dialogue on “Positive Masculinity” as an antechamber to encourage the change of behaviors and mentalities, encourage and involve men and boys in prevention actions, violence against children, promotion of equity and gender equality, as well as empowerment of the woman.<\/p>\n

This action is also intended to eradicate the toxic masculinity that is based on sexist behavior that generates actions of violence against the rights of women and children within the family, with greater emphasis on the increase in cases of evasion of fatherhood, a fact that constitutes a reason of great concern to the Angolan government.<\/p>\n

During 2022, he said, INAC recorded 17,725 cases of violence against children through the SOS child line, of which 4,935 cases of evasion of parenthood, 4,367 of physical violence and 1,379 of sexual violence.<\/p>\n

Faced with this situation, he underlined, it is necessary to put an end to all forms of violence against children, especially with the escape from fatherhood.<\/p>\n

“The national program for rescuing moral and civic values \u200b\u200breinforced the interest of the Angolan Government in bringing together all the living forces and developing actions aimed at improving the social, behavioral and safety environment”, punctuated the official.<\/p>\n
