Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Civil engineer Muanda Satshishinga defended, this Monday, in Luena (Moxico), the inclusion of a project manager in the execution of the Integrated Plan of Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) to safeguard the quality of works.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, within the framework of a Provincial Conference on \u201cProject Management and the Engineer’s Professional Life\u201d, he said that, in some cases, PIIM projects do not offer the necessary quality because they are designed and implemented by several people.<\/p>\n

According to the also member of the Order of Engineers of Angola, it is desirable to hire a manager with added values, capable of assessing the impact of the project on the lives of the population, in accordance with the objective of the work.<\/p>\n

Asked about the alleged deterioration of some works, in a short time of their construction, he presumed to be due to lack of knowledge about the acquisition and use of suitable materials for each project, as well as the technical capacity of those who make use of the means.<\/p>\n

For his part, the provincial deputy governor for Technical Services and Infrastructure, Wilson Augusto, said that the lack of staff in the province, as well as the lack of institutionalization of technical engineering courses in the private and public institutions of the province, has made it difficult to project management and monitoring.<\/p>\n

Speaking on \u201cAccessibility, as a factor of social inclusion\u201d, he added that the province currently has less than five architects and a small number of engineers from different areas, calling for the need to invest in this branch of knowledge.<\/p>\n

Regarding \u201caccessibility, as a factor of social inclusion\u201d, he informed that it continues to be a concern, since many public architectural projects are devoid of the construction of ramps, adaptation tracks, bathrooms, among others.<\/p>\n

He defended greater dissemination of the referred law to ensure greater inclusion of people with reduced mobility.<\/p>\n
