Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Writers and poets from Bie\u0301 province asked the government for more support, especially financial support, for the publication of literary works, as well as spaces for exhibition.<\/b><\/p>\n

The president of the Literature Brigade of this region, A\u0301lvaro Alves, who was speaking within the scope of the World Poetry Day, marked this Tuesday, said that creators face difficulties in specific training, lack of art workshops for the improvement of writing techniques , among others.<\/p>\n

He stated that such concerns are already in the province’s governmental bodies’ domain, which is why he was confident in solving the problem, having highlighted the importance that poetry has for the development of society, above all in the integral formation of citizens.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the director of Bie\u0301’s Office for Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, Afonso Belo Sanguvila, reiterated the government’s willingness to help this class of artists, given their importance in Angolan society, especially Biena.<\/p>\n

He added that most of the problems have already been solved, with the entry into operation of the Walter Cambodja Arts Academy, the Abel Abraa\u0303o Media Library and some cultural centers and jangos.<\/p>\n

Therefore, he asked poets and writers to continue to present works aimed at preserving the historical and cultural heritage, conservation of public goods, among others.<\/p>\n

He also recommended the presentation of works, trovas and recitations in national languages, aiming at achieving social inclusion and maintaining the national identity.<\/p>\n

During the celebrations, marked by an exhibition of more than 30 local literary works, there was also the declamation of different poems that portray everyday life in Bieno, the appreciation of human capital, the family, public goods, the importance of training, among others.<\/p>\n

World Poetry Day is celebrated on March 21 and was established by Unesco in 1999, with the purpose of recognizing poetic movements and literary tradition, encouraging reading and promoting linguistic diversity.<\/p>\n
