Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Thirteen companies are taking part, starting this Friday, in the first Porto do Lobito Fair, taking place in Portas do Mar.<\/b><\/p>\n

Under the motto “Porto do Lobito – 95 years open to the world”, the fair, which runs until the 28th, marks the high point of the celebrations of the company’s 95th anniversary, which is celebrated yesterday, and the organization expects to receive more of a thousand visitors a day.<\/p>\n

Among the exhibitors present at the fair in Porto do Lobito, highlight to Sonangol, the company of the Benguela Railway (CFB), Carrinho Indu\u0301stria, General Tax Administration (AGT), Angoalissar and Lobito Naval Shipyard – Lobinave .<\/p>\n

On site, visitors discover with notable interest the different areas of the Port of Lobito, such as the Human Resources departments, Cli\u0301nica do Porto, Internal Audit Office, the farm that produces cereals, beans and tubers for internal logistics, Casa do Personnel (with basketball, handball and hockey clubs), Commercial and Marketing, Port Operations, Technical and Infrastructure, as well as Safety and Environment.<\/p>\n

As part of the company’s social responsibility, Cli\u0301nica do Porto do Lobito is also promoting a health fair, with the aim of contributing to the improvement of public health by offering treatment for malaria, dengue fever, typhoid fever, among other diseases that afflict the lobiting population.<\/p>\n

For five days, 28 health technicians, including six doctors from various specialties, will provide free consultations to citizens in the areas of general medicine, pediatrics, orthopedics, surgery, stomatology, physiotherapy, nutrition and obstetrics-gynecology.<\/p>\n

After the inaugural ribbon-cutting of the exhibition by the Secretary of State for Civil, Maritime and Port Aviation, Emi\u0301lio Londa, there followed, namely, a guided tour of the nine-square-metre stand that welcomes exhibitors and a parade of sailors and port equipment, such as cranes and boats that paraded in Lobito Bay, attracting the attention of those present.<\/p>\n

At the opening, which was also attended by the provincial director of Transport and Urban Mobility, Ca\u0301tia Cachuco, representing the provincial governor of Benguela, municipal administrators and staff of the Angolan Navy (MGA), the president of the Board of Directors of Porto from Lobito, Celso Rosas, asserted that, nowadays, the port is more disciplined, organized, ethical and prepared to face future challenges, mainly its transformation into a landlord port.<\/p>\n

Celso Rosas guarantees that the Port of Lobito is increasingly ready for future challenges in which “we want to evolve into a port of ownership”.<\/p>\n

“Today, we live in a hybrid situation in that we are still an operational port that is preparing to create the technical, human and material conditions to transform itself into a landlord port”, advanced the official.<\/p>\n

For Celso Rosas, in the port lordship, the administration will have the fundamental responsibility of supervising and regulating the port activity.<\/p>\n

With regard to the first fair in Porto do Lobito, he emphasized that the objective is to publicize a series of activities and services, in order to bring the company closer to the local community.<\/p>\n

“The objective is to create joy and bring the Port of Lobito closer to the communities”, he said, adding that there is a pedagogical space reserved, in which lecturers will address the organization and functioning of the Port of Lobito.<\/p>\n

Celso Rosas added that the program also includes a cultural space, starting at 6 pm.<\/p>\n

In this regard, he announced that several<\/p>\n

national artists will take the stage next to Portas do Mar to entertain the public during the five days.<\/p>\n

In Portas do Mar, on Avenida da Independe\u0302ncia, in the Restinga area, there is also a gastronomy space available, with the aim of promoting the typical dishes of Angola, with emphasis on mufete, calulu, cabidela and feijoada, in addition to the well-known homemade drink like kissangua.<\/p>\n

Currently, the Port of Lobito has 1,519 workers.<\/p>\n
