Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>A group of 150 young people from Luanda and Cuando Cubango visited the memorial of the Battle of Cuito Cuanavale Wednesday, as part of March 23, the Liberation Day of Southern Africa.<\/b><\/p>\n

The excursion, held under the motto \u201cKnow the paths that led us to Independence and Peace\u201d, also aimed to take young people to know the protagonists of the famous Battle of Cuito Cianavale and, above all, its impact on the Independence of Namibia, on the abolition apartheid in South Africa, the stability and peace of the Southern African Region.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, the coordinator of the delegation of young people from Luanda, Sebastia\u0303o Gaspar, asked the government and other institutions to publicize the achievements of the heroes of this battle, which celebrated its 35th anniversary on the 23rd of this month.<\/p>\n

The delegation of young people, during their stay in the municipality of Cuito Cuanavale, 189 kilometers east of the city of Manongue, capital of Cuando Cubango, also visited the Tumpu triangle, ongoing works of the Integrated Plan of Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), among other tourist attractions in that area.<\/p>\n
