Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The role of women in military operations and peacekeeping was praised this Friday in Ondjiva by the delegate of the Social Security Institute (ISS) of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) in Cunene, Colonel Maria Joa\u0303o Chaves.<\/b><\/p>\n

When speaking at the opening of the lecture on the Right to a Survival Pension, the official highlighted the participation of women in the defense of the homeland and their performance in military operations.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, he requested greater participation by this part of society in decision-making, conflict resolution and the promotion of gender equality.<\/p>\n

In the lecture, which aimed to pay tribute to women, within the context of March, the FAA colonel recalled that Angola defended, with the United Nations, the participation of women in peace processes.<\/p>\n

Present at the act, the head of Social Security and Auditing, Major Chiloia Calenga, underlined the fact that the FAA’s social protection system guarantees the attribution of rights to beneficiaries, their families and descendants.<\/p>\n

According to the official, based on Angolan legislation, the State grants beneficiaries protection in the event of illness, accident, disability and old age, as well as survivor pensions for the surviving spouse, descendants and ascendants.<\/p>\n

He said that the law establishes protection in case of unemployment, in cases of accidents at work and professional illnesses for the military.<\/p>\n

During the event, certificates of merit were given to the women, the best father and the organ’s employee.<\/p>\n
