Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The finance ministries of Angola and Portugal sign, on April 5th, in Luanda, a cooperation agreement in the field of public finance.<\/b><\/p>\n

For this purpose, the Minister of Finance of Portugal, Fernando Medina, works from the 2nd to the 6th of this month of April, in Luanda, where he will hold a meeting with his counterpart, Vera Daves de Sousa.<\/p>\n

The scheduled meeting, according to a note from the Ministry of Finance, this Sunday, will culminate in the signing of the aforementioned cooperation agreement in the field of Public Finance.<\/p>\n

The said agreement to be signed is part of the technical cooperation actions to be developed by the two ministries, with an impact on budgetary and fiscal matters, treasury management, financing and public debt.<\/p>\n

The cooperation protocol between Angola and Portugal also aims to contribute to the training of services and technical staff, using, for this purpose, the valences that the Portuguese side will offer on public finance management, according to the note.<\/p>\n

According to the document, these actions are part of the content defined in the Strategic Cooperation Program 2018-2022 established between the two states by the respective ministries responsible for external actions.<\/p>\n

It is also envisaged that cooperation in public finance will be included in the Strategic Cooperation Program 2023-2027, which should be signed soon.<\/p>\n

The work agenda of the visit by the Minister of Finance of Portugal also includes an audience to be granted by the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, a meeting with the Minister of State for Economic Cooperation, Manuel Nunes Ju\u0301nior, as well as with the Minister of Economy and Planning, Ma\u0301rio Caetano.<\/p>\n

The visit will also include technical meetings with representatives of the National Bank of Angola, the Financial Information Unit (UFI), the International Studies and Relations Office and the Public Debt Management Unit.<\/p>\n

During the four days of work, the Portuguese delegation will visit the project for the Sanctuary and Requalification of the town of Muxima, which is part of Portugal’s funding line.<\/p>\n

Angola and Portugal are countries that retain historical ties of cooperation that have evolved in various areas, with emphasis on the sectors of health, education, training, agriculture, environment, energy and water, justice, security and defence.<\/p>\n
