Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Commitment to the common good and respect for others’ opinions were, among others, pointed out Tuesday, as essential elements for the preservation of peace in Angola.<\/b><\/p>\n

The opinions were expressed at the end of the ceremony in which President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o decorated several Angolan personalities and institutions, on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the Day of Peace and National Reconciliation, which is celebrated yesterday.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press at the end of the act, the Archbishop of Luanda, Dom Filomeno Vieira Dias, encouraged Angolans to do their best to build and preserve peace, committing themselves to collective happiness.<\/p>\n

The archbishop wished that Angola be the country of peace, freedom, dignity and dialogue in the difference of ideas and opinions.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

After considering that the construction of a nation is a long process, he said that Angolans need to walk together in the family, school and bet, more and more, on the psychological formation of the individual.<\/p>\n

For Dom Filomeno Vieira Dias, the laws of the State itself and the functioning of public institutions must be taken into account.<\/p>\n

The Archbishop of Luanda confirms the challenge launched by the President of the Republic in the sense of a greater contribution to peace, referring that no one should be excluded from this responsibility.<\/p>\n

Peace must be preserved <\/b><\/p>\n

The former president of UNITA, Isaias Samakuva, defended the preservation of peace with public policies and with the responsible participation of all.<\/p>\n

“I feel at a high point in life and career due to the recognition”, declared the president of the Portfolio and Ethics Committee, journalist Lui\u0301sa Roge\u0301rio, after being awarded the Order of Civil Merit, I Degree.<\/p>\n

Lui\u0301sa Roge\u0301rio proposes to increase personal dedication in favor of preserving peace and building citizenship.<\/p>\n

The former guerrilla fighter and widow of former Minister of Defense Iko Carreira, Maria Helena Carreira, said it was important to end the war and walk the path of rebuilding the country.<\/p>\n

Politician Abel Chivukuvuku, who was also decorated, spoke of the need to build an Angola that is more open to inclusion and dialogue.<\/p>\n

He considered the 21 years of peace positive, focusing on improving the construction of a democratic State based on the rule of law.<\/p>\n

Commitment to the defense of the homeland <\/b><\/p>\n

Among those decorated, there was also Brigadier Ma\u0301rio Jorge Miranda, who praised the distinction, believing it to be the result of commitment to defend the homeland and the Angolan people.<\/p>\n

For the poet, psychologist and social consultant Kandimbu Ananaz, the moment was one of happiness, having stated “Congratulations Angola, long live peace. I am very happy. It is a moment of great emotion because the President of the Republic has been following my work , the work of women of the arts”.<\/p>\n

Approached by the press, Chief Commissioner Anto\u0301nio Gimbe considered the recognition comforting and urged the need for mutual respect, always thinking that the nation belongs to everyone.<\/p>\n

Lieutenant Generals Alfredo Tyaunda and Joaquim Constantino considered that recognition extends to the officers, sergeants and soldiers with whom they worked and work.<\/p>\n

They stated that the decoration encourages them to continue the work for the defense of territorial integrity and the maintenance of peace in the country.<\/p>\n

Among the more than 400 decorated, Joaquim Constantino said it was essential to recognize those who contributed to the peace being effective.<\/p>\n

He appealed for the preservation of that good peace and “that violence never be encouraged”, having outlined concord and dialogue as paths to follow.<\/p>\n

Recognition for art makers<\/p>\n

Actor Lui\u0301s Kifas valued the recognition of those who make the arts, having promised to continue to serve society, as well as defending a greater commitment to human capital, for the construction of a more civic and developed country.<\/p>\n

The actor, well known for his character Sido\u0301nio in the series Conversas no Quintal, encourages the preservation of peace, complying with the norms that govern a civilized society.<\/p>\n

Albertina Dias, awarded the 2nd Degree Police Merit Medal, advised people to live in peace and joy, as well as wishing for a peaceful April 4th.<\/p>\n

The former General Commander of the National Police, Paulo de Almeida, said that the medal is also recognition of the collective effort.<\/p>\n

Paulo de Almeida considered the challenges of maintaining social harmony and national unity permanent.<\/p>\n

Jose\u0301 Margoso, son of the late General Margoso, was satisfied with the recognition of his father’s performance in the fight for the country’s liberation from the colonial regime and in the defense of the country.<\/p>\n
