Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>At least nine documentaries will be shown during the International Documentary Film Festival, called DocLuanda, which Lubango hosts for the first time, from Friday, to Sunday, at the Cine-Teatro O\u0301scar Gil, on the outskirts of the city.<\/b><\/p>\n

This is a sample of the event that has already had two editions, the first in 2022 and the second in March last, in Luanda, without awards. The four-day festival is promoted by the production company Criacom\/BCC and O\u0301scar Gil Produc\u0327o\u0303es, in collaboration with the Association of Visual Film and Audio Professionals (APROCIMA).<\/p>\n

During the four days, documentaries by national directors and by Angolan and foreign co-directors will be shown, with the titles \u201cLabuta\u201d, \u201cNzila Angola\u201d, \u201cA Mi\u0301stica dos Tambores\u201d, \u201cFantasma do Impe\u0301rio\u201d.<\/p>\n

The documentaries \u201cBeyond my steps\u201d, the best film in national competition in 2022, \u201cMuseu de Manifestac\u0327a\u0303o\u201d, the best in the same national competition in 2023 and \u201cYOON\u201d, the best in international competition in 2023 will also be shown. .<\/p>\n

In addition to films, the festival will promote round tables on cinema in Angola, directing and producing documentaries, editing and operating cameras, as well as an exhibition of paintings, books and handicrafts, all the result of local production.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the opening of the event, the provincial coordinator of the APROCIMA nucleus in Hui\u0301la, Delfino Ndalila, said that the event will mark the official reopening of the Cine-teatro O\u0301scar Gil, which will now show films every day.<\/p>\n

He declared that the objective is to promote and dynamize Angolan cinema, the theaters are open for films of national production or co-productions between Angolans and foreigners.<\/p>\n

Delfino Ndalila stressed that these are films that portray various subjects, mainly of everyday life, in international and national documentaries, noting that one of the objectives of the festival is to awaken a taste for cinema, especially documentaries, and the other is to show what has already been made in this segment.<\/p>\n

He invited all art makers and those interested in cinema to take part in the event, as entrances are free during the four days to stimulate, promote and awaken a taste for cinema.<\/p>\n

DocLuanda presents itself as an event aimed at documentary cinema that aims to “encourage cultural exchange” and establish a contemporary vision of the World and Angola through cinema and its history, thus contributing, also, to the future of the panorama of the country. In the next editions, the festival intends to continue to extend its action or other artistic aspects such as concerts, exhibitions and performing arts.<\/p>\n
