Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Finance (MINFIN) in partnership with UNICEF is introducing a Program Based Budgeting (PBB) system in the country, with a view to achieving satisfactory quality targets in the education, health and other social areas, he said today public finance expert Shar Kurtishi.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the specialist, who was speaking at the end of the training course for planning and budget technicians from various ministries, which took place from 17 to 20 April, this new form of budget planning is intended to improve school inclusion in the country and the quality of education and health throughout the national territory.<\/p>\n

For the technician, one of the main objectives of the training was to prepare staff for this new methodology for budget preparation, \u201cwhich will help to analyze how public funds are used, to improve education, the health status of the individual, family and communities through curative and accessible services\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith this training, MINFIN will come to the conclusion of how best to adapt the funds for the pilot projects that are part of the General State Budget (OGE) to a good allocation of resources\u201d, said the public finance specialist.<\/p>\n

He said that this more efficient work will increase access to quality medical services, for example the management of malaria cases, the availability and quality of medicines, materials needed by doctors, among other goods and services.<\/p>\n

During the four days of the course, the 40 technicians learned how to act on questions about Program Based Budgeting (PBB) and Good Practices, programming, performance in ministries, how to fund projects, among other aspects, indicators to be used in the current context of the economy angolan.<\/p>\n

The nationwide training was attended by technicians from the central bodies of various government departments who were trained following the first OBP course held in August 2022, virtually, with more than 130 staff from various departments.<\/p>\n
