Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Port of Luanda presented, this Friday, to the Institute of Management of Assets and Participations of the State (IGAPE) the new development plan that foresees the creation of one more terminal and the construction of a shipyard, aiming at an increase in from 800 thousand to three million containerized loads annually.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the Master Plan for the next 20 years, the Porto Senhorio model \u201cLordLandPort\u201d foresees the optimization and modernization of existing terminals, an investment by the operators themselves.<\/p>\n

This development plan, in addition to the creation of another terminal, also provides for the construction of a cabotage pier and a pier bridge for cruise ships.<\/p>\n

As part of this development plan, the construction of the passenger terminal, maritime port control tower for vessels, a video surveillance circuit, rehabilitation of the maritime signaling system, as well as the construction of an electrical substation to respond to to the projections of the plan.<\/p>\n

In a press interview, on the sidelines of the IGAPE visit, the Chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of the Port of Luanda, Alberto Bengue, said that the \u201cLordLandPort\u201d management model represents the ordering of the port, where there are practically no heavy investments by the State.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this operating model of management and administration, the position of supervisor of terminals and related services focuses on collecting tax revenue from concessions\u201d, explained the manager of the Port of Luanda.<\/p>\n

According to the PCA, the Port of Luanda has eight operating terminals, namely the general cargo, containers, liquid bulk, cabotage, multipurpose, multipurpose, passenger and oil activity support terminals, of which only five are under concession and three being used by public companies.<\/p>\n

In turn, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of IGAPE, Patri\u0301cio Vilar, considered that, from the point of view of exploration and development projections, the Port of Luanda is developing an optimistic plan.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe liked what was presented to us, both from the point of view of exploration and perspectives, specifically the development strategy of the various terminals, creation and design of new terminals, important factors for an economy where ports are the gateway and the exit of a significant volume of goods to the country\u201d, argued the manager of State assets.<\/p>\n

However, Patri\u0301cio Vilar recommended greater business and commercial responsibility to the Port of Luanda.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Port of Luanda is developing and complying with a strict plan of accountability and payment of liabilities, a good example to follow\u201d, he asserted.<\/p>\n
