Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, to the boards of directors of the public companies of Water (EPAL, EP) and Electricity Production (PRODEL, EP) were among the main highlights in the political news of the week that Saturday, ends.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>In separate decrees, published on Friday, the Head of State, after dismissing the previous councils, appointed Ada\u0303o Manuel da Silva as Chairman of the Board of Directors of EPAL.<\/p>\n<p>It also appointed Kelson Miguel Domingos, Enoch Francisco Lopes da Costa, Eva Dinamene Damia\u0303o Fernandes da Costa and Kubikiladia Bernardete Garcia to join the said board as executive directors.<\/p>\n<p>The Public Electricity Production Company (PRODEL, EP) now has Pedro Eduardo Manuel Afonso as chairman of the board.<\/p>\n<p>This council&#8217;s executive directors are Arlindo Paulino Upindi Cambungo, Manuel de Sousa Panzo, Daniel Catata Catumbela, Haile\u0301 Arissandro Vieira Dias Ferra\u0303o.<\/p>\n<p>Also making news was the private meeting between the Angolan Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, and his Cape Verdean counterpart, Jose\u0301 Maria Neves, in which they addressed issues of common interest, within the framework of cooperation relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>Also in the week that ended, the National Assembly (AN) approved, in general, the Draft Law on the Labor Procedure Code, which is characterized as a key instrument for the development of the labor justice system.<\/p>\n<p>The Law Proposal, on the legislative initiative of the Executive, was approved with 166 votes in favour, no votes against and no abstentions, at the 6th ordinary plenary meeting of the 1st Legislative Session of the V Legislature.<\/p>\n<p>Also in the Parliamentary domain, the AN recommended, to the Executive, to improve the reporting mechanisms of the State&#8217;s financial management that lead to a positive and transparent evaluation of the public accounts.<\/p>\n<p>The recommendation is expressed in the General State Account (CGE) for the 2020 fiscal year, whose Draft Resolution was approved this Wednesday, in the hemicycle, with 111 votes in favour, 61 against and two abstentions, during the 5th plenary meeting ordinary of the National Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>Another subject worth mentioning is related to the entry into force of 158 guarantee judges, as of the 2nd of May of this year.<\/p>\n<p>The entry into force of these judges was addressed on Friday, in Luanda, during a meeting between the president of the Superior Council for the Judiciary, Joel Leonardo, the Minister of the Interior, Euge\u0301nio Laborinho, the Attorney General of the Republic, He\u0301lder Pitta Groz, and the chairman of the Angolan Bar Association (OAA), Lui\u0301s Monteiro.<\/p>\n<p>The province of Luanda will have 49, 21 for the Comarca de Belas Court and 28 for the municipality of Luanda.<\/p>\n<p>In the political news, press also highlighted the need for a greater approximation and collaboration of all towards the Ombudsman, defended by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Marcy Lopes.<\/p>\n<p>The government official made this reference when speaking on behalf of the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, during the opening ceremony of the week of the Ombudsman, adding that it is intended to work so that this institution becomes increasingly stronger, active and known by citizens.<\/p>\n<p>In the diplomatic field, several actions took place this week, with emphasis on the results of the meeting, from the 18th to the 20th of this month, in Brazzaville, of the Angola and Congo Bilateral Cooperation Commission, where it was reached the understanding that the two countries will initial, in Next November, a convention on Judicial Cooperation in Civil, Commercial and Administrative Matters and an agreement for the Constitution of the Joint Permanent Commission for Defense and Security.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the cooperation, the two countries will also sign an agreement on Political Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Angola and of Foreign Affairs, Francophone and Congolese Abroad and a regulation on the Organization and Operation of the Permanent Mixed Subcommittee on Defense and Security.<\/p>\n<p>Also in terms of diplomacy, the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, discussed with the Chinese ambassador to Angola, Gong Tao, issues relating to the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries, with emphasis on the availability of increased scholarships for studies for Angolan cadres.<\/p>\n<p>Leaving the audience in Cidade Alta with the Vice-President, the diplomat assured the Chinese commitment to cooperate in training staff in his country and in companies operating in Angola, in order to contribute to socio-economic development.<\/p>\n<p>Also noteworthy was the appeal by the Minister of the Interior, Euge\u0301nio Ce\u0301sar Laborinho, to the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) \u201cto do everything to follow in the footsteps of the globalized world, in order to contribute to attracting foreign private investment\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The minister made these references while speaking at the event commemorating the 47th anniversary of the SME, having underlined that the dynamics of globalization, combined with the need for greater openness in the field of foreign investment, imposes new challenges on the forces of order, taking into account the need to ensuring the security of citizens and the protection of
