If there are criminal matters, these will be brought to court,” he added.

He made it known that the fight against corruption in the province is a fact, despite not having many cases.

He informed that, during the first quarter of the current year, the body received three processes that are in the investigation phase.

According to Deodato Inácio, the length of some processes has to do with the scarcity of technicians, a situation that the central bodies of the PGR are working to overcome.

In this sense, he informed that the PGR in Lunda Sul needs 20 magistrates and more than 30 justice technicians.

Government of Lunda Sul

On the occasion, the Deputy Governor for Technical Services and Infrastructure of Lunda Sul, Cláudio Pemessa, praised the role played by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) in defending democratic legality and the interests of citizens, in accordance with the Law.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the local Government to provide institutional support to the justice bodies, through the creation of decent conditions for accommodation of PGR staff in the region, to better perform their functions.

He recalled that, within the framework of the Constitution, the Public Prosecutor’s Office is called upon to zealously carry out its function as a supervisor of legality, establishing a close balance between the two legal levels, the Constitutional and the Criminal.

He advocated more pedagogical actions to raise the levels of knowledge of the laws in force in the country by the population, since the exercise of citizenship involves knowledge of their duties and rights.

The week of legality takes place under the motto “Prosecutor’s Office: Defense of the public interest and fundamental rights of citizens in administrative justice”.

During the event, the PGR in Lunda Sul will promote lectures on “the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the defense of the public interest and the fundamental rights of citizens in administrative justice”, a meeting called “talk to the prosecutor”, and cultural and sporting activities.

For More News And Analysis About Angola Follow Africa-Press

Africa-Press – Angola.
