Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Ju\u0301nior, highlighted, this Wednesday, in Luanda, the forecast for economic growth of 3.3%, with the oil sector growing 3.3% and the non- oil to 3.42%.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking at the opening of the 1st Edition of the Angola Economic Outlook (AEO), promoted by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, in partnership with the magazine Economia & Mercado, he stressed that it is necessary to continue on the trajectory of economic growth so that the country’s major social problems are resolved, with special emphasis on unemployment.<\/p>\n

He recalled that after 5 consecutive years of economic recession, Angola grew again, in 2021, with a rate of 1.1%, in that year, while the oil sector had a strongly negative growth of 11.2%. The positive overall growth was possible due to the strong recovery of the non-oil sector, which grew by 6.4%.<\/p>\n

The 1st Edition of the Angola Economic Outlook (AEO) addresses, among other issues, the country’s macroeconomic performance indicators, in light of the reforms promoted since 2018, as well as the macroeconomic reforms developed by the Government to remove internal and external imbalances in the economy.<\/p>\n

In the first panel, which includes the participation of the Minister of Economy and Planning, Ma\u0301rio Caetano Joa\u0303o, the Minister of Finance, Vera Daves de Sousa, the governor of the National Bank of Angola, Jose\u0301 de Lima Massano, the approaches on the resumption of the of positive fiscal balances and surplus balances in the current account of the balance of payments and the reduction of the public debt stock.<\/p>\n

The 1st Edition of the Angola Economic Outlook – AEO 2023, taking place under the motto \u201cFrom economic recovery to sustainable development\u201d, is an economic observation platform that aims to allow investors and other operators to anticipate their decisions based on projected scenarios.<\/p>\n
