Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The deputy attorney general of the Republic of Cunene, Ame\u0301rico Cassoma, warned this Wednesday, in Ondjiva, people who involve children in street vending to put an end to this practice, under penalty of criminal responsibility.<\/b><\/p>\n

Regarding the week of legality that runs from the 24th to the 28th of this month, Ame\u0301rico Cassoma said that the PGR will start to initiate actions and hold criminally responsible the authors who involve minors in the activity.<\/p>\n

He informed that these are practices encouraged by parents and small traders and, therefore, the PGR will act to curb the trade in eggs and cookies, which involves children of school age.<\/p>\n

The magistrate asked the National Children’s Institute (INAC) and the Social Action Office to reinforce awareness campaigns on the violation of children’s rights, to combat this phenomenon that has been growing in the province.<\/p>\n

Ame\u0301rico Cassoma made it known that, between April 2002 and March of this year, 34 cases of minors in conflict with the law and application of the respective criminal prevention measures were registered.<\/p>\n

In the same period, the PGR registered 5,222 different criminal cases, 35 of which were of an economic and financial nature, involving public managers, employees of the local State administration, public and private companies.<\/p>\n

INAC in Cunene, during the first quarter of this year, recorded 46 cases of violence against children, 31 more than in the same period in 2022.<\/p>\n
