Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The National Director of Human Resources of the Ministry of Education, Laudimira de Sousa, said today (Friday), in Luanda, that school sports are already based on solid foundations.<\/b><\/p>\n

The finding is based on the fact that the construction of sports infrastructures in educational institutions is guaranteed by way of express guidance from the Government of Angola and supervised by the related Ministry.<\/p>\n

On the sidelines of the third National Conference of the Angolan Association for Women and Sports (AMUD), he said that it has also been through the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIM) that several sports venues have been won.<\/p>\n

The chairman of the board of the general assembly of the AMUD said that school sport has grown in recent years both in terms of the practicing population and in sports venues, despite not having numerical data available at the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, regional championships are held in the country’s 18 provinces, where the best athletes, of both sexes, are selected to represent the respective zones in the various disciplines in the national phase.<\/p>\n

According to the director, the Ministry of Education has committed itself to ensure that no school in the country is exempt from the nationwide project.<\/p>\n

With the participation of more than a hundred guests, from the most varied social strata, the conference has already discussed topics such as \u201cGender equality policies and alignment with the objectives of sustainable development.<\/p>\n

A round table was also held on the theme, “Obstacles and challenges overcome throughout the sports career and their insertion in society”.<\/p>\n

Today’s activity ended with the theme Distribution of Olympic solidarity grants, in a meeting that runs until Saturday.<\/p>\n

AMUD, led by former handball player Justina Prac\u0327a, was founded on March 2, 2007.<\/p>\n
