Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The province of U\u00edge will host, for the first time, between the 24th of June and the 10th of July of the current year, the International Theater Festival, called FesteaU\u00edge.<\/b><\/p>\n

The festival, promoted by the arts collective Nzoji Yeto, will be attended by more than 15 theater groups, in addition to national ones, also from Mozambique, Portugal and Brazil. The festival, alluding to the commemorations of the founding of the City of U\u00edge, aims to promote and massify the art and cultural potential of the province, as well as to publicize and show the work and commitment of local actors.<\/p>\n

The event, which takes place under the motto “For the unity of the class and for the development of culture”, also aims to reinforce the exchange between different actors, provide moments of leisure and occupation of the free time of the youth, as well as to promote the tourism of the region.<\/p>\n

The coordinator of the International Theater Festival in U\u00edge, Domingos Nicolau, assured that the conditions were created for the accommodation of groups, lighting and sound on the stages where they will be exhibited and the presence of all the groups that applied had been confirmed.<\/p>\n

Due to the pandemic, he said, the necessary biosecurity measures are in place. Attendees to the event must present a negative Covid-19 test taken 24 hours prior to arrival at the festival venue. Before the performance, the members will again undergo a Covid-19 test, as well as the presentation of the vaccination card with the two doses.<\/p>\n

Domingos Nicolau said that FesteaU\u00edge has been held since 2012, in allusion to the celebrations of the foundation of the City of U\u00edge, but in the category of National Festival. This time, FesteaU\u00edge will be internationalized with the presence of renowned theater groups, such as Agrupamento 7, from Brazil, Lobby Teatro, from Portugal, and Lareira Teatro, from Mozambique.<\/p>\n

From Angola, the groups MZ Teatro, Waubrialas, Proteza Teatro, Luzingo Malembe, all from the province of U\u00edge, Lussengomono, Fofartes and Odetavares, from Luanda, will perform on the stage of the Hotel Bago Vermelho, in the city of U\u00edge, while the province of Benguela will be represented by the groups Ombaka Teatro and Onzila, and Hu\u00edla by Estrelas ao Palco. The province of Cuando Cu-bango will also be present with a group, whose name was not disclosed by the organization.<\/p>\n

During the festival, the arts collective Nzoji Yeto will promote multimedia theater training sessions, lectures on “The history and sociology of Angolan theatre”, “The role of the theater actor in development” and “The rescue of cultural values”.<\/p>\n
