Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Art makers in the province of Moxico requested, this Thursday, the government, funding support for artistic projects, to allow the development of activity in the region and guarantee their livelihood.<\/b><\/p>\n

This concern was presented to the provincial governor, Ernesto Muangala, during a consultation meeting he held with the region’s artistic class.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the theater actor of the A\u0301rvore que Da\u0301 Fruto group, Anto\u0301nio Tchinhama, asked for funding support for a training plan for actors, with a view to adopting them in technical knowledge and making local art more competitive and profitable.<\/p>\n

In the social aspect, he requested the implementation of social projects that offer stability and dignity to local artists, through the transfer of social housing, land for self-construction, as well as employability programs.<\/p>\n

This idea was corroborated by the singer Sandra Nyakatolo, one of the ambassadors of culture in the eastern region, defending the social protection of the female class that preserves the tchianda-style dance, one of the greatest cultural symbols of the country.<\/p>\n

“Mr Governor, we are starving, we need support”, he cried.<\/p>\n

Music producer Andre\u0301 Jamba pointed out the appreciation of local musicians in cultural activities promoted by the government, as a way of making local art sustainable.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the activities phase, we are forgotten, the preference has been musicians from other regions\u201d, he lamented.<\/p>\n

In the same perspective, historian Salvador Cacoma defended the implementation of a program that aims to support the study and dissemination of the history and culture of the province that a group of researchers, led by himself, has developed.<\/p>\n

In turn, Governor Ernesto Muangala said that he understood the concerns raised, promising to work towards solutions.<\/p>\n

One of them, according to the official, will be to create a provincial commission, with the aim of working with the central bodies of the State, for the approval of the organic statute of the Casa da Cultura, headquartered in Luena, to become administratively and financially autonomous, to assist in the development of art in the region.<\/p>\n

In the same vein, in order to solve the problem of lack of support for cultural projects, he said that the local government could mediate with diamond companies in the region, to support initiatives by local groups.<\/p>\n

He promised to establish balance in the involvement of local artists and artists from other regions, in carrying out government activities to ensure their survival.<\/p>\n

In terms of housing, he guided the Municipal Administration of Moxico to work on providing spaces, with the aim of meeting the needs of artists who aspire to fulfill the \u201cdream\u201d of owning their own home.<\/p>\n
