Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Three social infrastructures were inaugurated this Friday in the Rasta neighbourhood, in the district of Kilamba Kiaxi, in Luanda, built within the framework of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM).<\/b><\/p>\n

These are two maternal and child centers \u201cMaria Ada\u0303o Pedro de Sousa (Quilumbula)\u201d, \u201cArau\u0301jo Manuel Gomes\u201d and a police station, inaugurated by the provincial governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem, with the aim of stemming the crime rate and serving the local population in primary health care.<\/p>\n

The health units have an area for Minor Surgery, General Medicine, Maternal and Child Medicine, Administrative area, among other services.<\/p>\n

The structures erected from scratch are valued at more than two hundred million kwanzas.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, after the ribbon-cutting at the police station and the guided tour, the Commander-General of the National Police, Commissioner-General Arnaldo Manuel Carlos, said that the new structure will help to reduce the crime rate, experienced by the residents of that urbe that is composed of more than 14 thousand residents.<\/p>\n

As for the only vehicle allocated to the squadron being insufficient, he said that they have nearby units that could provide other means to support the squadron, in case of emergency.<\/p>\n

In turn, the administrator of Kilamba Kiaxi, Naulila Andre\u0301, was optimistic about the functioning of social services, believing that they will help to overcome the deficiencies of the population in terms of health and policing.<\/p>\n

He explained that the area of \u200b\u200bthe Rasta neighborhood has a high number of births in adolescents under 15 years old and that the medical center will help in the work of family planning and community awareness.<\/p>\n

Regarding the lack of water and electricity in the Rasta neighborhood, he said that the Ministry of Energy and Water is working to solve the problem.<\/p>\n
